Artist Statement

With a background that spans photography, graphic design, sculpture, and public art, my creative practice exists at the intersection of fine art and visual communication. I am drawn to artforms that engage directly with the public—whether through large-scale installations, community-based screen printing events, or accessible graphic design that circulates beyond gallery walls. For me, the power of art lies in its ability to connect, surprise, and provoke—often with a touch of humor or irony.

In both photography and design, I explore themes of environment, identity, and play. My 2D work often incorporates visual wit, using familiar forms in unexpected contexts to question systems we take for granted—consumer culture, environmental neglect, or socio-economic disparity. I’m especially interested in media that can be reproduced and shared, allowing ideas to move beyond traditional art spaces and into everyday life.

As an educator, I aim to demystify the creative process and empower students with the tools and confidence to express their own visual voices. Teaching photography and design keeps me engaged with ever-evolving technologies and aesthetics, while the classroom continues to be a place of mutual inspiration. I believe students thrive when they are encouraged to experiment, take risks, and embrace both conceptual depth and technical rigor.

Ultimately, I don’t see art as a solitary pursuit. I see it as a conversation—with the audience, the community, and the next generation of image-makers.
